Department of Transport and Main Roads
Program Advisor x 2
- Carseldine QLD
- Contract, 12 months
About the Role
Join Business Solution Delivery at the Department of Transport and Main Roads in a hands-on PMO support role spanning multiple initiatives. You’ll work alongside Program and Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams, helping keep delivery information, governance and reporting organised and reliable.
This opportunity suits someone who enjoys the detail that helps projects move forward: preparing governance materials, maintaining schedules and registers, and supporting financial reporting. The role is focused on supporting delivery, rather than managing programs or projects.
What You'll Be Doing
- Prepare and quality-check project artefacts, including initiation documents, business cases and status reports.
- Coordinate governance forums and prepare agendas, minutes, presentations, reports and decision records.
- Maintain project and program schedules, review them with managers and support resource allocation.
- Help managers ensure timesheets correctly allocate effort to project and program activities.
- Track and reconcile budgets, forecasts, actuals, variances and billing information.
- Maintain risk, issue and change registers, following up on updates and actions.
- Provide delivery support across multiple initiatives using relevant program and project frameworks.
What You'll Need (Essential)
- Experience in PMO, project support or project coordination, preparing governance materials and supporting project artefacts.
- Experience with Microsoft Project or a similar scheduling and resource management tool.
- Experience using Microsoft Office for project documentation, reporting, tracking or presentations.
- Experience in the public sector or a large, complex organisation.
- Qualifications in, or practical understanding of, project or program frameworks such as PRINCE2, Agile or MSP.
- Recent experience in a support capacity, rather than project, program or delivery management.
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting ICT projects or programs.
