About the Role

Help create and improve software products used in the intelligent transport systems sector. You’ll join a multidisciplinary product development team, working with product and engineering colleagues to deliver dependable, high-performing applications.

This is a hands-on senior engineering opportunity for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges and making good engineering practices part of everyday delivery. You’ll contribute to the team’s technical direction, support junior developers and help turn complex options into clear recommendations.

What You'll Be Doing

• Build, enhance and maintain C#/.NET microservices, applications and APIs.
• Collaborate with product and engineering colleagues to deliver sprint goals.
• Design service integrations and solutions aligned with the technical reference architecture.
• Improve product quality and performance through automated testing and query optimisation.
• Contribute to peer reviews, CI/CD, infrastructure automation and secure development practices.
• Investigate technical challenges, present options and recommend practical solutions.
• Coach junior developers and document designs, findings and decisions for the wider team.

What You'll Need (Essential)

• At least 5 years’ experience in a software product environment using Scrum and DevOps/SRE practices.
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining C#/.NET microservices, components or APIs.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes, plus technologies such as Redis and RabbitMQ.
• Working knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, including query writing and performance optimisation.
• Experience with automated testing and service interface technologies such as REST, gRPC or AMQP.
• Familiarity with source control and CI/CD pipelines, and comfort working across Windows and Linux environments and with public cloud services.
• Ability to mentor junior developers and communicate technical designs or recommendations clearly.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Microsoft Orleans or another stateful, distributed application framework.
• Experience using observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
